Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March on the 26th of March, 1991. She is an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October 2016 Ari Lennox debuted her Pho EP. This was the moment that she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music onto the internet in 2012 as she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. The singer continued uploading her songs online throughout 2014 and released her own single Bound. On 21st of July the 21st of July in 2015 Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes song Sweat It Out. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to use it together with Rihanna. The news was released on December 8 that she had signed with Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. On the 21st of October in 2016, the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act to J. Cole on his track Change in 2017. She also was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. She also appeared on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus with Bas and her labelmates. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The debut single, Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream was released on September 5, 2018 with an accompanying music video. Then on the 9th November, she released another two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). On November 13 she then dropped two singles titled The No One or Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on February 26, 2019 to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared along with Cole in the Creed II sound track on November 16. In February of 2019, the video music for this track was launched. The track has garnered more than three million YouTube views within a week. In support of the track, she toured with 6LACK in December of 2018 for The From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
